He was one of the founders of the underground pioneers’ movement HeChaluc in the Basin, for the Jewish youth preparing to emigrate to Palestine). Along with Hanka Borensztajn he was a local leader of a Zionist youth organization Gordonia in Będzin. He was a commander of the Jewish Combat Organization (ŻOB) in the ghetto.
He died at the age of 24 in the Bedzin ghetto Kamionka with a group of friends after denunciation by the Polish informant, who was a Gestapo agent. His name appears on the last letter sent by Frumka Płotnicka and other militants from the Będzin ghetto, on 17. July 1943.
