He was a great doctor of pediatrics. Also he published in the medical press. He took an active part in the public life of the Jewish community, active, among others, in the Society of Friends of the Hebrew University, in the Gymnastic and Sports Society „Ha-koach,” which he became a president of in 1925 and in the Union of Jewish Demobilized Soldiers.

During the war he was in the Warsaw Ghetto, where was shot. He is buried with his wife Helena (Chaya) de domo Szpigelman (1893-1941) at the Jewish cemetery in Warsaw at Okopowa Street.

Children Irena Inwald (*1918) and Adam Rechniewski (1921-1989) (soldier of the Polish Home Army) survived the war in the Warsaw ghetto and immigrated to Australia (today his grandson Peter Rechniewski lives in Sydney).
